The waving wind
A human feeling
Is not the summer trees in the breeze
But the waving wind itself
As it comes and says goodbye
All at once
And is everything and nothing
Now gone
My sky, my water
Digital or print
In this happy medium
I grow wings and fly
Far above my vision less
Peers with their unseeing eyes
Nearness far
Are we happiest most
In the proximity of others
Whom we love
And inevitably care for to help
Perhaps
As that certainly can be
The exact opposite of distance
And the awareness once banished
Far away from this self
Unknown quantities eternal
Just quickly
Go ahead
And count the trees
(Just for a moment)
And recollect this sight
So that you can now again
(See)
Gods infinite wisdom
On display
In his not letting us
Know so many things
Or too many things
(To count)
Like stars or smiles
Or passersby the mile
Or trees and their amounts
(Of leaves) to fall
Life about to
Never make the mistake
Of thinking that this life
In any way is about you
Because your breath may be yours
For the short time you can keep it
But the air belongs to the sky
And all the waters beneath it too
Are lifted higher every morning
Than your own body is
On this average each and every year
This is your plight
Yours is your life
But you will not keep it over
Let alone forever
Evaporate
Adream Orelse
We humans need
A dream or else
We fall back into this
The lack thereof which leads to
A most shallow
Most empty
Reaidualness
And this
Is very bad indeed
You see?
Forward with grace
Nearness is neither blessing nor curse
When balanced properly
On the edge of opportunity
This is when a chance to step
And to guide steps forward
Is the right way to approach such sights
Neither left nor right
But forward with grace
Is right
There is a whole ocean out there
Do not envy
One dimensional depths
Or shallow pools of want
Which build up in warmth
And barely reflect the sun
Meant to know no more
Than evaporation once
You should not because
There’s a whole ocean out there
Beyond this this three by three
Uneven close to the sea
And you were meant to swim
Not just splash, my free
For no puddle ever offered such
Either danger or ease
Caring
Caring is not a virtue
But a feeling of felt
And that
Is fine
And soft
And smooth as sanded stone
Or saddle soap on leather old
But feelings themselves
Only think they can
Keep your warm at night
When the cold harsh comes
And caring can only carry you so far
When your eyes will not see
Beyond what you feel is true
Open up to beyond
Challenge yourself to new
In serving others, we
There are those who serve nothing
Themselves or causes less
Than honorable
Than holy in approach
And than
For fear of sounding
Thou or preachy
Out
There is us
Life, Life Is
Life is full
Of those thing of all
Both new
And old
And mundane
And insanely reassuring
To the point of knowing and blurring
Which is which
And what is what
And when you need to
Again return to new
But life
Good life
Is when mixed all these things are
Throughout and through
And with a lens of faith
Revived anew
And therein lies
The secret
Life
Coffee tanka
Black bean seeds of life
Fall down and out of favor
In the eyes of hands
Which reach for and decide these
Which chosen ones are coffee
Dearest love most true
How quickly I forget
When such a loving and living
Breathing and being
Blessing stand before me
As you
Dearest love most true
To me you are
Saria
Unbeing into being
Falling back
Like into snow
I rest now in
These simple tasks
Which pull my mind
Into a place of unbeing
Where all which falls is white
And these which were tasks
Like the bright dissipate
And I
Glided through them all and fell
Into a more settled place
Beneath the sky
Most quiet smile
There is a strengthening
Of soul
When not speech
Prevails
But instead
You hold
Onto the words of in
Without care for other men
But for yourself alone
You write not as whole
But in part
