Wires

With elongated limbs they reach

These silver wires beneath the sun

Trapped in glowing, radiant heat

Outstretched like song with southern twang

How they curl and bend the earths dismay

Beneath the weight of the wind which sang

A song of friendship, old, outstretched

With bitter barbs and slighted ends

They stretch but do not break so much

Conduct but do not hold a hope

For old connections once restored

Though still in tact, they have my prose

Wires
