Fading flames
As a furnace we burn
Though our coals are not bright
Though we wish and wish
For a different form of life
This life itself
Isn't awareness
Though in burning it is most certainly
Bright
And the saddest form of seeing is this
The distant flicker of a once bright light
Fading off into the night
Saying goodbye and goodnight
"May your consciousness ship depart quickly"
I pray
Freshwater beds, a tanka
Ocean beds cannot
Rest peacefully when these men
Pour out their needs slow
Into the ocean of life
Expecting salt to savor
My heart whispered in the dark
You sleep in my arms
As a bright log rests in a quiet fire
Glowing softly
Radiating slowly
And encouraging gently
As if I may never be cold again
Your rest
Is my joy

This Experience
Though by no means
A slave to my senses
I
Have emmensly enjoyed
That experience which
And the discovery of
What us
Looks like
Tastes like
Feels like
Is like
Yup
Looking at you
Looking at you
Even an image of late
Is like observing the moon
During all times of day
Like stairing at the sky
Through all kinds of weather
But most like when heavy summer rains
Burst through the clouds to my amaze
And my eyes are filled
But can't get enough
Of the clear beauty which you are
In abundant blinks
It's funny how even at this distant memory I
Can still breath it in
Like the rain which fell
Most recently
Saria
The night sky Haiku
Starlight crashes down
Into open minds in search
Of the skies inside

Midst Wishes
A human wish is not a wish
But a memory
Or a thought
Or a preconceivedness
When we eat our stomachs screams for it
When we think out thoughts are not of this
And when we dream we wake from our lovers wish
What am I
And
What more is this
?
This drive begins again
I am that which is becoming
The realization of my dream
Which I’ve been asleep to for these past ten years
And ten years from now
I’ll wake again
And in a new direction turn suddenly
Unendingly
And into the sun
The poet and the physicist
The genius and the wordsmith sit
Near feet away from each other's midst
.........
Entangling numbers, words, and lists
Each dance a dance of uniqueness
With a talley perhaps he circles that
With a Tanka I scratch some lines like this
.........
As there each with his own peculiar wits
How the genius and the wordsmith sit
Five feet apart
She Is
I think at last that as she is
Such a one consistent to exist
From within how nature does select
The seas with rolling temperament
I think at last that as she is
Such a one consistent to exist
From within how nature does select
The seas with rolling temperament
And with ease that wind can only match
Such gliding figures as a river whisp
Neath chaotic willows wavering dress
Her flowers grew out of random grass
Like starlight cold yet burning fast
Still hot as coals beneath stoked ash
She is none and yet most all of this
For a woman is my opposite
Homeward After Meeting Her
In looking at these similarities
The down the road
The woodland sea
Each day is but another breath
Each sight a color-turning leaf
With you this time
It begins to end
And on this drive alone again
My eyes midst human night do see
That all I was has been becoming
And I don't want to give anything less
Then everything I could possibly be
